Who's the Target Audience?
The target audiences for this are beginning, intermediate and advanced teachers working with children from birth to age 8. Encouraging teachers to consider the classroom door from a child's perspective, this kit helps teachers understand that entryways are an essential aspect of classroom design.

Kit Timeline:
Preparation time for this kit is estimated at 1.0 hour. Implementation and actual training time is 4.0 hours, which includes 2.5 of face-to-face training and 1.5 hours of independent study.

Training Outcomes:

1. Learner will list at least 2 reasons why the classroom entryway is an essential aspect of environmental design.
2. Learner will cite at least 2 environmental design principles for developing classroom entryways that are responsive, engaging, and supportive of children's, families', and teachers' needs.
3. Learner will critique, design, and document (i.e., sketch, photograph) an improved classroom entryway based on the principles of designing entryways.
